Scott’s Thoughts
One of the toughest things with dealing with out of print collectibles is often finding a price for items that often there is no data related to them, trying to be fair and take care of your customers but also realizing there is often a scarcity and a buildup of people that are looking for these items.
This is what we experienced this week with adding a bunch of Young Jedi Promo Foils. Looking at the past three years of eBay sales, most of these have 0-3 sales, the last of which was around $50 and they sold instantly, and that was early 2023. That generally means that they were underpriced.
I thought maybe we should mark them at $99 and see if they sat or if they moved and lower them if they do not. I also didn’t want to go that high on them. I consulted with my staff and we decided to go with $60 for NM and most of these were LP so they would be around $54. Maybe we should have gone $70 to start, haha. The 20-30 of these that we had of these have all sold out within 24 hours of being on the site. Obviously, there was more demand for these than we were expecting. I’ll most likely mark these up to around $70-80 and update the buylist on these to see if we can’t get more of them in stock.
Young Jedi – The whole Young Jedi inventory was updated this past week. Some of the higher end cards and most of the Promo Foils have all sold out. Make sure to add what you need to your wishlist on the site and you’ll get an email the next time they come in.
Towers in Time – Singles for the game are on the site. This is a new game for us and I’m excited to see how this one set game does.
Star Wars CCG – Just a small restock this past week but we have a few buylits that just came in with SW in them. Look for those to hit around this coming weekend.
Star Trek CCG 1E & 2E – Look for restocks for 1E to start landing early next week which should impact just about every rare for the game.
Family Corner:
My oldest son is hearing from his top college choice this week. He’s already been accepted to two schools and will hear from the rest of them by mid Feb.
This is an exciting time in his life and he will have some great opportunities in front of him.
