Scott’s Thoughts
Summer’s wrapping up fast over here. My daughter just finished her summer lacrosse season. She’s going into her senior year, and my youngest son is starting 8th grade. He just got braces and is really proud of how nice they look on him. My oldest will be back at the University of Utah in Fall 2027. He’s going to be in France for the next two years and has been enjoying the short time he’s already been there. He’s learning the language, getting great pictures, and meeting lots of people.
This season has been wild in Marvel Snap. Each week is a different Meta and I reached my highest ranking ever, 816 in the world. I haven’t been able to get the new Invisible Woman card yet and that’s made me drop this week.
In between the family chaos and last-minute school prep, we’ve been busy behind the scenes here at the shop.
What’s New at the Shop
We’ve just added a big restock of Star Wars Destiny cards—including lots of the harder-to-find cards and dice. We’ve had great success with recent buy list submissions, so thank you to everyone who’s sent stuff in. If you’ve been waiting to fill in some gaps or build a new deck, now’s the time.
On the pop culture front, the new Fantastic Four and Superman movie buzz is definitely bringing collectors back to their roots. We’ve seen an uptick in people grabbing cards of their favorite heroes to build theme decks or just relive some nostalgia. You’ll see some of those featured in this week’s top sellers and spotlight cards.
Sadly, we also saw the passing of Hulk Hogan this week. I generally try to look at people beyond their political views and see what they did for an industry I love. It would have taken wrestling a lot longer to get mainstream if not for the Hulkster.
Whenever a legend like him passes, it brings a wave of fans looking to reconnect with their memories. Hulk cards have been flying out the door—just like when Leonard Nimoy passed and every Spock card we had vanished overnight. It’s always bittersweet, but it’s also a reminder of how these characters and people connect with us over the years.
Coming Soon
Tons of cards are hitting the site thanks to all the recent buy list activity. We’re especially focused on Shadowfist right now and hope to have the rest of the sets added by the end of this week.
As always, thanks for being part of this community. Whether you’re hunting for a single card or building a dream deck, we’re here for it.
Catch you next week,
